Californians identify water supply as one of the most important environment issues facing the state, second only to air pollution, according to the latest statewide survey by the Public Policy Institute of California.

The survey, which primarily gauged Californians views on climate change, energy policy and air pollution, found that water ranks among the top issues of concern for respondents. Though air pollution was identified most frequently by survey respondents, the next highest response was water supply, with 12% identifying it as a top issue in response to an open-ended question.

Other frequently named issues included energy and oil drilling (11%) and water pollution (6%).

More on the PPIC survey is available here.
